The last question gives the slope of the tangent at the point (x, f(x)) on the graph of f(x) as

f'(x) = 6x + 4.

Thus, when x = 1, we get

f'(1) = 6(1) + 4 = 10.

(Notice that the y-coordinate (y = 7) was not needed in the formula for the slope.)
