The derivative of a quantity cubed is 3 times that (original) quantity squared, times the derivative of the quantity.
The derivative of (3x2-4) cubed is 3 times (3x2-4) squared, times the derivative of (3x2-4).

That is,

The derivative of (3x2-4) cubed is 3 times (3x2-4) squared, times 6x..

If you now write this in symbols, you get the same answer as above.

You would enter the answer as 18*x*(3*x^2-4)^2
