We hope that this listing will be helpful to instructors and students using the text until the appearence of subsequent printings. We shall list corrections by printing. To determine which printing you have, consult page (iv) of the text (the page facing the table of contents). Approximately two-thirds way down the page, you will see "Printed in the United States of America" followed by a sequence of numbers. The last number in the sequence is the printing number. For instance, the following imprint denotes the second printing:
